Sorry for dragging the project for so long time. For your information, we will start our work officially on next month, so the proposal will be finalizing before Chinese New Year, and get approved as fast as possible. Lets hope it will be approved easily...

For the 1st stage treasury department members will do some prior work such as keychain productions, sponsorship, sending invitations etc. For 2nd stage we will dividing everyone into departments as in Aquatic Night meetings.
This 30th Anniversary Celebration involves everyone, but I know many of us are busy, so for final year seniors if you are free you can always help us.

erm...just a reminder...plan your budget properly...some1 or one of u committee need to control wat need to buy and wat we can get elsewhere....such as from sports Unit...just for ur info..i think u all also heard that as APEX uni...we got a lot of funding...including sports development...so...u all pandai-pandai approach sports unit officers to get partial or better still full subsidy....
officers u can contact includes: En. Mustapha and En Rahman
they are the one told me the possibility to get funding for all the sports club in USM whether or not the purpose is for competition (domestic and overseas) and also other activities such as for dinner.
Since its the anniversary.....why not make it big and interesting rite....and most importantly....at minimum or no cost or better still making profits....hehe

A reunion dinner will be held on Sunday, 30th of August 2009 at Dewan Budaya Bouquet hall, USM. This function is to reunite all the ex-lifeguards of USM over 30 years of establishment. Throughout the year, anniversary sales will be done together with every activity as the long term fund raising project of the year. The most important impact we will get is exposing USM Lifeguard Corps to the public and promoting lifesaving and CPR courses.
2.BACKGROUND INFORMATION
USM Lifeguard Corps was founded at 1st of September 1979. Over 30 years, USM Lifeguard Corps produces many experienced lifeguards all around the world. It is essential to reunite the alumni and have a proper record of the history of the corps.
Promoting life saving by flyers and posters is becoming more and more ineffective. 30th anniversary celebration is a big impact and will be able to catch the public's attention of the existence and achievements of the corps.
3.PROJECT DETAIL 3.1.GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

It is held on Sunday, 30th of August 2009. The venue will be at Dewan Budaya Bouquet Hall, USM which can accommodate approximately 200 persons. Buffet food outside the campus is provided and entertainment is arranged.

The above is the complete proposal for 30th Anniversary Celebration.
So currently while sending all the documents to be approved, we are designing the keychains and contacting the ex-lifeguards. We will try to construct the history of Lifeguard Corps by all means.
So seniors if you are free, please help us in some minor tasks. Mid-sem is a depressing period for everyone. I thank all the treasury department members for your hard work. ++++ oil!!
I am glad to tell everyone that this proposal was approved, and now we are going to divide into departments and start working. The five main tasks are invitation, publicity/yearbook, keychain & catering, sponsorship and program & protocol.
I prefer to call them working groups rather than departments because I think this will add unnecessary pressure to everyone with those bombastic titles...
We are targeting 150 people and we will produce a yearbook as Kenneth suggested. We will either make it partial-subsidised or fully sponsored if possible, depends on our luck.. We will see if we can make a banner for our activities...
Anyway, if anyone has any ideas or designs please feel free to tell us! We are not supermen or superwomen, and please correct us if before we do anything wrong...

some of my opinion here^^ maybe some of my opinions here already discussed in the committees, any overlaps jus take it. plz dont shoot me back cz i will be demotivated to give opinion anymore >< haha..
1. ticket price - since this is a reunion night, i think it is not over to collect rm50 - rm100 from the participant for this night. for the success of an event, money is very important! somemore this is big event ever of lg corps. i dono abt other la, mb is a financial problem for them, but i will start save everyday 50 sen from now- march and til august i got : .50 x 30days x 5months = rm75..so stop ordering drinks in khaleel or istimewa or starbuck, save that for the night,hahaha...
i'm willing to do this just for the corps because i love this family=) (saving is a very hard task for me.... >< )
2. key chain- small life buoy
(shuold be able to make one, cz i've ever seen small drum key chain from 24-drum, or kungfu night? pretty good sales, meaningful item as well)
3. souvenir - watch. i personally not prefer plastic watch la:p of cz we alws try to reduce cost, as long as the design is simple and nice, and it's meaningful and in proper box, i don't mind wearing a fake watch even not functioning. because it carries meaning that is more than that.
4. newsletter - lg acticities- fitness test, aqn, reunion dinner of cny and convo, interaction day etc~
5. booklet - make a small yellow pages, a complete directory of lg^^
include all participant's name, or even all lifeguard, if manage to. a right time to reunion, and get all contact back so that coming aqn sponsorship will have more resource for lucky draw :p
6. promotion - disclose and update the participants attending the night frequently.
from my observation, for example my management night this year, im not attending not because the activity is not good, instead, it shound be interesting. but im not attending bcz i dono who is attending, and my friend are tired asking everyone and they stil considering wan go onot...erm, stil dono how to solve this pro :p but i think lg bond are atrong, so jz disclose this problem to share and avoid perhaps...
7. table/seat - if can, try avoid same generation or certain group of friends sit in the same table or same row of seats. interaction games is very important to make the night full of memories. try not to let the participant feel that couldn't sit with their close one is gonna be boring, activites on that days play important roles.
because i was sad when just recently i heard from one of our seniors that he/she felt the generation gaps =( we all know, including the seniors that they are mostly welcome to join back this family, but those activity are organized, take part and well known by current lifeguards, the active one are the current lg...little or even no interation with our old biscuits~ PLEASE don say ALL PARTICIPANTS SHOULD TAKE THE INITIATIVE TO JOIN IN THE JUNIORS OR CURRENT LIFEGUARD, i'm sick of hearing we should do this we should do that. we are not computer software that we key in the right formula then the result will come out as we wish. sometimes is the condition and the atmosphere let us feel uncomfortable to mix in, individually. our role as current or fresh lifeguard are to solve this problem, not to pass the problem back to the person.....i hope those who read my long msg til this sentence know my meaning^^ consider their feelings, and give them a happy night, to get to know new friend in lg, to feel they are back to the corps again, to enjoy js lik the time they enjoy in lg activities last time during their age^^
upload those old old photos found in lifeguard room, remember last time when we moved to new lifeguard room? a few of the seniors look like our current lifeguard,hehe. if i not mistaken i saw "ruo wen" and "jun yuan" and dono who dy, a few of them, funny ^^ ~ )
9. choral - don't forget to thank the ex-lg for cultivating our corps for 30 years. mb make this event marks the end of the night. any nice songs to suggest? i personally like this song^^let the music heal your soul - n'sync & backstreet boys

Sorry for inactive..have been busy with studies lately... So for elaine's suggestions: 1. We have set the ticket price as RM40. However we have alternative other than buying tickets. You can donate or sponsor to the corps and join the reunion, in terms of cash of course. I don't think people will donate the amount less than the ticket price and come.....no offence ya.
2. Right now our default design for keychain is duty T, your suggestion is nice too, we will consider that.... If we have a loose budget we can make both..
3. Due to the budget problem, we cannot afford to have souvenirs for everyone, maybe we will use keychain as souvenir. It depends on our budget.
4. We are producing yearbook, so the newsletter and contacts will be inside.
5. Table/seat - that is not our main issue right now... but we will think about it.
oh ya, last sunday CPR Instructors' course, i had chat with one of our ex LG also taking the course. Glad to hear that she is looking forward and gonna attent our 30th anniversary. her name is CHAN PAIK YEE, she is a teacher in a secondary school in Ipoh. Her contact is with KENNETH in her appilcation form of CPR Instructors' course, you might get the contact from kenneth might as well ask her to get ex-lg of her batch^^ i'm sure she is passionate to help on^^

as we speakin, anyone noe how many people is confirmed coming?? in facebook, i c all those juniors is confirmed la bout 20 ppl, then i heard from CPR intructorship say got lots coming more.. so are we expectin min 100 ppl ?? then, dewan banquet tak cukup tempat? where we shuld organize the reunion dinner le? hmmz, if put back in pool lagi tak muat kan?? so got to find fews hotel lo?? so, let discuss more cause as I see no movement very long time liao. . hehe sorry guys if i got say something wrong here.. hmmz, as i know, all commitee members sure very busy coz got exam n assignment due date.. so gambateh n here i wish u all good luck in ur final la. . . dun pressurized urself too much if not, it will affect ur study..
I agree with Zi Xiang on this. The first thing the committee has to settle is the list of people attneding the event. With that list, only then can you find a suitable venue that can fit everyone that will be attending. Actually, if the event comprises of only a dinner, than a hotel ballroom similar to that of Aquatic Nights will be suficient.
Encourage ex-LG to bring their family members as well. Make it like LG-open day or family day in-stead. Then can get more people from attending. Not forgotten, friends also are most welcome.
Therefore, they can update their latest status, discussing their children progress etc.
so exam week over? start to work liao?? any update?? things such as night theme, location of reunion dinner, list of guests... well, take ur time but remember, time doesn't wait for people...
Er....think exam or whateva you called that ended like 1 month ago? Think everyone's sleeping on this and I think I'll be waiting for a typical Malaysian answer.
