GUA TEMPURUNG Nice trip, for 1st time cavers it is a nice expedition I think, not too difficult and yet you get all a cave can give, water, humidity, guano, and pitch black darkness. We must try the Grand Tour next time, worth it my friends say. And hopefully the water level will be a little higher, adds to the excitement.
KELLIE'S CASTLE At least for those who have not view an empty house that is more than 100 years old (like me), it is an eye opener, at least I know bricks use last time really tough....Other than that, nothing much lor, coz not night time, nothing unusual.... wahahahaha
CAVES, TEMPLES AROUND IPOH As with above, an eye opener for 1st timers. Nice anyway. :)
FOOD No complains, at least the way we eat really proves that we are on a food marathon, though I am kinda sad we did not catch the Curry....
Would like to have the heong piang in the plain red plastic bag....

I'm proud to say that the Ipoh trip has been completed and was a success. It ran over two days last weekend from the 17th to the 18th of May 2008. The trip was planned as 60% a food marathon and the other 40% for sight seeing. We tasted many tasty and delicious local delights thanks to our many local guides.
Like the others said, we visited some famous locations in Perak such as Gua Tempurung, Kellie's Castle and Sam Poh Thong. I would like to send out a big heartfelt thank you to all who made it possible.
I would like to thank all that supported this trip that I organized. Two of our very reliable navigators; Lee Wei Inn and Chiang Teen Yuen, the members of the Penang contingent; Su Yin, Kenneth, Soon Jiun, Min Fey, Chin Yee, and Jun Yuan.
My deepest gratitude goes out to all our friends from Ipoh and Perak who kind generosity and hospitality made this trip all the more fun and possible. Thank you to Mun Pung, Po Koon, Wei Kiang, James Ho, Swee Lee, Loy Chee, Joshua Chung and Ming Chee.
Last but not least I would like to give a special shout out to Soon Wen and his family who kindly put up with us for the two days.
Thanks to Soon Wen veli veli de much and so sorry that our presence seems to create chaos!
The Ipoh people too... for the patience and waiting for us 'sampat' people as we sightsee.
It was my first time to Gua Tempurung and also Kellie's Castle and a whole load of other places, but in my humble opinion, the destination does not matter. It's the companions that change the whole perspective.
Miss you guys!

true... really enjoy the trip much... although i jus join for the 60% food marathon. didnt manage to visit Gua Tempurung and Kellie's Castle. hope next time we go for the Grand Tour la.. more exciting ma.. hehe...
thanks for all the ipoh ppl accompanies. (there is really many ipoh person in the corps ^^)
last but not least, hope the trip is not the last.. looking forward for the next trip!!
Thanks a lot to the 'Perak" ppl lor... Hehe. Especially Soon Wen that allow us to stay in his mansion. Not to forget Mun Pung, Poh Koon, and the juniors from ipoh. I guess i have a lot of fun there lor. Especially to Gua tempurung, very fun and should have try the grand tour in future. But just for info, i heard CC says that we can't just simply go there and say we wan to go for the grand tour because booking is required as 1 day they just allow 3 groups to enter only. But i nt very sure about that lar... Can ask the management ppl there.
Food! Yeah. I could say it is super great. But too bad i get ulser lar... haha. can't fully enjoy the meal la. But really appreciate Ipoh lang that brought us to all the fantastic place to eat lor. A lot of first time i've get there, first time eat yuet kong hor, first time see the whole table of dim sum and of course the place that we visit oso the first time la. Haha...
Thanks to all the Ipoh Lang once again lar... Arigatou gozaimasu... Hehe...
it is rewarding enough for me to know u guys enjoyed the trip...
wat suyin said is very much true...
"the destination does not matter. It's the companions that change the whole perspective" it is one important phillosophy i learnt from the corps...
everybody said bukit merah water themepark is no fun... i always asked them u go wif who? cause the last time i went with the corps... it was damn fun... we spent more than 2 hours there...no fun?
the same goes with kellie's castle... that's why whenever got friends come...i'll bring them to kellie's castle... although, like brick said, just "an empty house that is more than 100 years old"... but if its no fun, why did we spent more than an hour there?...haha...
thx to kennet...we even had some great laugh at Sam Poh Tong...a peaceful temple in the cave... haih...where else can we go but not having fun?
perhaps a tips for those who may host your friends at your hometown... just search in the net all the places of interest around your hometown... and bring them there... cause its all part of the been-there-done-that...
so...what next? the historic town of Malacca?
