Tattoo for me is very cool. But for somebody it's the sign of "bad", "naughty", "uncontrolable", "rebellious". Some even said having a tattoo will put you into trouble when looking for a job! What do you think? Anyone of you want to have a tattoo and show it out in your swimming trunk/suit?

Agreed, maybe getting a tattoo is also giving an excuse to keep you weight eh????
Then again, tattoo is a norm nowadays. Professions like Law, Med, and Audit/Accounting might disagree with you having a tattoo; MNC's on the other hand has no problems with that.....

In my opinion, I'm more concerned with the health implications of getting tattoos rather than the social implications. By getting a tattoo, you are exposing yourself to a high risk of diseases such as flesh eating bacteria, skin diseases, STD's and even AIDS.
So, for those interested in getting a tattoo, please choose a clean and reputable tattoo artist and parlour. Do not go to one of those seedy ones. But as TY said, in certain professions, having a tatto can affect your impression on the future employers. For those who are planning to climb up the corporate ladder, think very wisely before you decided to start getting ink on your body.
The next issue, like Wei Inn said, as we age, our bodies will undergo changes. Among the most affected organs is our skin. We will loose skin elasticity as the collagen starts to age. As such, the shape of the tattoo will get distorted along with our saggy arms, etc.
This is why, experts recommed those who are lazy to tone up to get tattoos on regions that do not sag so badly such as the lower back, back of neck, above the ankle or other more hidden areas.
aiyer...u all say like tat make me very geli oh...but nvm..hahaha...actuali tatoo is the way i gain the confidence...ermm...if u reali wana make it..reali nid to think twice b4 u do...it reali last forever vf u...but i nvr regret to have 1 on my body...
i m planning to hv another 1 in the future...hahaha..dun follow me ya..i m naughty girl..
To Evan: luckily i think i nt yt gt any skin disease...AIDS??stil duno la..cz nvr body check...but i think i dun gt it cz when i donate my blood...the hospital there nvr ask me to go n check...kekeke...^^v...
In my opinion, I do not think that tattoos symbolises rebellion, or naughtiness or whatever.
For me, it's just art, permanent art inked on your body. Different people have different ways of expressing themselves and unique ways to show that.
I think having a tattoo is great, shows that you're confident and care not what others think/how they are going to judge you.
But of course la, our society is still very much conservative, hence, like it or not, people tend to judge you when they got to know that your body is inked, especially so when going for job interviews etc because there's this stereotype that people with tattoos tend to be rebellious and prefering to do things their own way, which may cause trouble in the workplace, but i think that's bull .
I heard that tattooing can be an addiction too. Once you get started, you'll start wanting more.
And yea, if you're thinking of getting inked, make sure it's clean and safe. Also choose designs that truly reflects your identity, and don't be a copycat la (Typical ones are butterflies on the upper back, tribal motives). I'd say Go for it! Worry about the sagging parts when you're old hahahha

That make sense too. Seems like Kevin Ling is a family guy, always concerning about the future kids..

Hmmm, are you that sure he is a family guy and worried for his future kids? Or is he worried he will accidentally father a kid sooner than he expects? Hehehe....just a thought.
For me... Tatoo is nothing just an art as SY said... But must take notes as what evan said too as nowadays a lot of ppl earn money (especially in Malaysia nowadays) without thinking their clients' benefit and consequences. That's make me worry.
Most ppl in here, especially in eastern country are more conservative and some of them will get the concept tatoo fellows = criminals. My dad thinks that way cause in their time is true. Because all the big boss sure got 'ang kong' on their body like dragon or tiger. But i found nowadays tatoo like what we can see from some place is extremely artistic and nice. Actually xiao bai one very nice, i've to admit, really. And i won't think she is bad but special and catch my first attention on her (positive feeling on her tatoo, don get me wrong).
If u really very worry about ur future, try to keep it in hidden place on ur body lar. About how to explain to ur child, u can always try to be rational as i believe the thinking of the society in future will definitely change. Take america as example, will u think that the ang mo that with tatoo is bad guy? I think won't right? Cause the culture is different, and u know, Malaysian thinking is different today from the past and i know it is still keep changing.
But again, as i said earlier, i won't care about how ppl judge me but i'm a 'little' health concern also. Really must take notes on what evan say.
For me, if i got a chance, i might make one too. As experience even it's permenant, but i heard that nowaday can wash off? Dunno...
so evan let us bet now.....whether u will marry 1st or me...hahahaah......well..this is my perception towards tatoo lar...but still im an asian...n im a chinese....maybe im a bit conservative..but no harm for being conservative in some ways...

Banker game again? Bet who get married 1st? I bet Kevin..
Although I like body art but I won't personally tattoo myself. Plus like Evan said, there are medical implications.
So if you really wanna tattoo, better choose the design you KNOW you'll still love it forever and the most important, find a reputable tattoo artist. In Penang I personally advise you to avoid the ones operating in small stalls or shops like in Prangin Mall and somewhere near Penang Street because you can never guarantee the safety.
Go for the reputable ones that use new sterilised needles like the one in Batu Feringghi and Tanjung Bungah. It's actually a large tattoo parlour where, as part of safety guarantee procedure, the tattoo artist will unpack the tattoo needle from the sealed pack in front of clients to prove that they're clean and sterilised. Then they'll use gloves and wear mask to cover their nose and mouth.
Evan's right. Aim for the body parts that are not gonna be saggy or bulgy. Those places like neck, back of hips, wrist, ankle and shoulder are also erotic spots. Tattooing on that area not only stimulate arousing sensation but it also has very sexy appeal when displayed with right taste.
Yummy...
Anyway if you don't gave guts or just can't do it for religious or moral obligations, settle for henna ones like me

Yes, tattoo can be removed using laser operation. But that'll cost a bomb and there's no guarantee you can 100% remove it. I don't even know if Malaysia has this operation. But I read an article about a girl who was a tattoo addict and she was forced to remove one of her tattoos by her father. The laser operation only removed around 70% so the tattoo's still there but fade.
i just can say that every people's perception is not the same...thanx soon jiun...if tatoo is no harm in our life...then jz go for it...wana be a role model of our son is nt only about the perception n stereotype of a tatoo...but v muz tell them why v make a tattoo...n tis is important...like the western...i reali like the way they teach their children...tat is y western is owaz in top of development is just becoz of our thinking n education...our thinking n education can reali influece our attitudes...so..have ac change in mind now...

Let me share with you one experience. Last week I went to client bank for a rat problem (I can't tell you which bank), the bank lady's arm's full of tattoos and I'm pretty sure the tattoos are not for tribal purposes....
