Do you have any suitable place for team building event?
Prefer places that can provide accomodation, meals and recreational space and facilities, most important, cheap!
Let's share together!

Hey Min Fey,

I like it that you're being so proactive and starting to look for suggestions so early on. It will give you all more time to plan ahead.
I feel very proud of your effort.
I will let you know when I have any ideas.

Keep up the good work.

now that i'm free and back to Ipoh...
i will try hunting for an overnight stay at bungalow or a house at good price...
it is still my dream and intention to organise interaction day to Perak...

Gua Tempurung ---> Kellie's Castle ---> perhaps Lost World of Tambun (Sunway water themepark)...

only problem is accommodation...

Hey Mun Pung,

I like your idea of organising an Inetaction Day in Perak.
The location just seem right. Not to close to home yet not too far.
Hope you can find some contacts, especially for acccomodation and food.
Then, we'll be all set to go.

Can't wait.

Jun Yuan, Jun Yuan,

Forever obsessing about food. So typical of you. Been my student since BM and still the same.
Don't forget the main purpose of interaction day is to strengthen the bond between members.
It is not a makan, makan outing.

We can always organise a separate one.

Any way is fine but i suggest nearer better if perak then perak lo my house there convenient for me hahahahahahahahaah

But i thought goin bkt merah wan hehe. just a suggestion.
I think we do our own team building games is better. although the company provide some good effective games, i still think own creation will worth more and yields more. If you understand wat i mean.

used to be quite cheap...
but i heard naik harga ady...
not sure...

evan will be very happy...
cos got many insects...
can get materials to enrich this forum...

somehow...
the last interaction day seems to break our "distance" barrier...
since we organised there...so far...
every else seems near and possible...

Hey Mun Pung,

Bukit Larut is a great location on its own but there are a few obstacles.
First and foremost, there will be a problem accomodating 40+ people. As far as I'm familiar, the largest bungalow there can only accomodate roughly 20 people.
Secondly, there will also be the issue of food, as there are no caterers at any of the bungalows or caretakers that can cook for us. I'm afraid it will be too much of as hassle to bring up so much food and spend too much time cooking.

A third issue is the transport up there, each jeep ride up there can only take around 8 people, it will take many trips for everyone to gather up there and regroup again when we leave. I'm also slightly concerned about the weather, the weather in Taiping is unpredictable and almost always rains in the evenings. After this years experience, I think we can use clear skies, especially during the junior games. Don't want them getting caught in the rain and it is very cold up there.

In addition the trail up there is also very prone to landslides, so I'm a little worried. Lastly, like you said the cost for renting the bungalows and jeeps has gone up. Much more expensive now.

Bukit Larut, is a great place to hang out with a close group of friends, but I feel it is unsuitable to organise interaction day.

Just my thoughts.

for the accommodation...
if there is no restriction...
i think one bungalow...4 rooms...can easily fit 40 of us...
of cos no bed for each of us lar...
few of us share a bed...or sleeping bag on the floor...

food we can prepare ourself...
can plan properly...
so we only do one dinner...
and a breakfast the next morning...
last time interaction day we oso do stimboat ourself...
bit difficult...
but i guess not a real problem...

i guess the real problem is transport...
have to wait lor...
group by group...
maybe from there can plan something...

and landslide...
well...cant do anything...

Just make sure you all maintain clealiness and don't cook nonsense.
Otherwise, we'll have a case of mass food poisoning.
Have to rush everyone to hospital later.
Will have interaction day in the ward then.wink

Actually we can cook ourselve and serve as a team building stuff as MP and SW suggested la. I had it too last time when we organize camping in some places which involve 100-150 ppls la. They can cook themselve or we had a department to cook lo. although not very nice food la. I think shouldn't cause a big issue in food la. Besides, we just go there 2 days 1 night only ma. The most also cost us 3 to 4 meals only.

However, i never been there before so i think i shouldn't say too much about other stuff la. haha... Can't wait... I wanna go up to Bkt Larut...

OMG!

No offense to you guys, you know that I fully support you all, but if I'm going to join you all for the next interaction day and all you all are going to be feeding us is tasteless soup, I'll sooner die..

Hahahaashamed

After listening to your story, I also did something like that before. During the scout camping, there's a cooking contest. I want to make fried rice, so must cook rice 1st lo. And then too much water, became bubur, but fried rice must be made. So became "fried bubur". At last everyone safe after eating it, what a relief.

Yeah I think so. Maybe we give them a chance to prepare their lunch or dinner on the first day. But we have to cross the fingers and pray that they will be healthy and in good condition to continue juniors' game. Muahahaha... All sakit perut..

That calls for cooking competition!

Food from winning team --> 3rd-years eat
Food from all other teams --> everyone else eat
