Good Good, after that training, CONFIRM won't fail fitness test..... Like tat gotta ask the incoming vice-captain to up the fitness test standard abit.....idea

Maybe 5X100M, 2 mins per 100M
250M towing, immediately switch rescuer and 250M again, time will be 11 mins
25M underwater in 25 seconds
sprint 3X50, every 50M, 50 seconds

LOL!

Yo bro,

With a scheme like that, you are probably looking at a total wipeout.
Nothing since the plagues of Egypt would be able to cause such devastation.

This training "menu" sounds "delicious", I want to join but sadly I have my own committment during the break... cry I'm sure will fail for the fitness test, result of not working out for the coming 2 months.

Okay, since sem starts dy, I wanna propose something.
For 1st fitness test (always the hardest), I wanna propose below. (to be fine tuned after testing)

Fitness test:
1st event, 4X100M swim, any style
Guys: 2 mins per 100M
Ladies: 2 mins 15 secs per 100 M

2nd event, 150M towing (cross chest) non-stop, immediately switch rescuer and 150M again,(this is a cooperative event, i'm thinking of the pairing up) :)
Guys: 9 mins 30 secs
Ladies: 10 mins 30 secs

3rd event, 25M underwater (can kick wall, so short timing)
Guys: 20 secs
Ladies: 25 secs

4th event, sprint 3X50M, every 50M break 10 secs
Guys: 50 secs
Ladies: 1 min

5th event, 2nd floor compact jump

*seniors (more than 1 sem as LG) will not be given any exemption
*1st sem LG will be allowed to fail 1 event only

Replacement:
2K swim weekly
time: 45 mins both gender
condition:
1. For those who fail/absent from fitness test. (all events including compact jump)
2. Must swim every week even if you pass replacement. (till week 14/before study week)
3. Timing must improve, if timing is worst than past week, +300M any style.
4. Fail weekly replacement, +200M any style.
5. Item 3 and 4 can run con-currently.

Shame on you guys, haven't try say fail dy. Never was once i met LG's with such low confidence / tolerance for a challenge. Damn. Where's the spirit? Do you know that to pass a fitness test is not to escape replacement, but to complete each event? There were LGs who took replacement right till their final year and did not complain, you guys so fast complain dy? There was also a captain, THE CAPTAIN knows that he cannot pass the fitness test yet THE CAPTAIN still complies and do replacement. Although the fitness test was way beyond THE CAPTAIN'S physical capabilities, THE CAPTAIN still do it. He even enjoys it. WHY?

Jun Yuan,

I heard about the weekly training. If it is not tough it is pointless, with or without fitness test / replacements.

frankly...for seniors these events are passable...come on...you guys n gals did Award n Distinct...except maybe 3rd event...cause i oso never time my underwater swim before...duno wat's the standard...

for juniors who fail...just shows that u guys n gals not ready for Award n Distinct...

for super juniors (newcomers) who fail...em...welcome to the corps...biggrin

i always vouch for replacement, but not PUNISHMENT...

replacement means replace those event that we failed...my personal opinion...

perhaps for seniors who fail one event...maybe they had too much McD or KFC or buffet during holiday (e.g. myself)...give them a chance lar...replace the event until pass...

for more than one...em...punishment...

of course...now i can only bark outside the corps...
just my 2 cents...
good luck guys n gals...

3. Timing must improve, if timing is worst than past week, +300M any style.
4. Fail weekly replacement, +200M any style.
5. Item 3 and 4 can run con-currently.

Finally I read this topic, I support this suggested replacement very much, rather than the current one. I just... Hate to do replacement!!

No... I rather do the current one.
This one is suffering... I nearly vomitted every time I swam 2k...

Okay, since sem starts dy, I wanna propose something.
For 1st fitness test (always the hardest), I wanna propose below. (to be fine tuned after testing)

Fitness test:
1st event, 4X100M swim, any style
Guys: 2 mins per 100M
Ladies: 2 mins 15 secs per 100 M

2nd event, 150M towing (cross chest) non-stop, immediately switch rescuer and 150M again,(this is a cooperative event, i'm thinking of the pairing up) :)
Guys: 9 mins 30 secs
Ladies: 10 mins 30 secs

3rd event, 25M underwater (can kick wall, so short timing)
Guys: 20 secs
Ladies: 25 secs

4th event, sprint 3X50M, every 50M break 10 secs
Guys: 50 secs
Ladies: 1 min

5th event, 2nd floor compact jump

*seniors (more than 1 sem as LG) will not be given any exemption
*1st sem LG will be allowed to fail 1 event only

Replacement:
2K swim weekly
time: 45 mins both gender
condition:
1. For those who fail/absent from fitness test. (all events including compact jump)
2. Must swim every week even if you pass replacement. (till week 14/before study week)
3. Timing must improve, if timing is worst than past week, +300M any style.
4. Fail weekly replacement, +200M any style.
5. Item 3 and 4 can run con-currently.
